Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

Still hangin' in there.... (the baby that is)

Tanya here. Not in labour yet. Of course, my due date is not actually until April 4th, but for the last three weeks the baby's head has been painfully lodged in my pelvis, and pretty 'ripe' for delivery. ALAS, there's not much I can do. Last night Jer and I made a trip to the hospital because I was leaking amniotic fluid. They checked me out and then an hour later told me to come back when the 'leak' became a significant 'gush'. Hmmm... so here I wait again. I know, I know, many of you ladies have gone way beyond your due date. And I'm sure, as is the case with me, patience was wearing thinner than... my cervix is at this time....
I tried to post a photo last week of myself wearing a maternity dress my great grandmother sewed for my mother when she was pregnant with me. (got that?) It's pretty funky- all seventies-like. I feel proud to wear it. And my mom, staying with us for a while, is proud to see me wearing it. (Funny to think I was 'wearing' it 26 years ago, and now again!)
Anyone got any good home-remedies to get labour going? I've been drinking red-raspberry leaf tea faithfully for the last two months. Haven't tried Cod-liver Oil yet... any testimonials on that stuff?
I should go now. My eyes are already 'bugging' from this bright screen.
