Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

A Poem

The beauty of fall; stunning colors and crisp air inspired me to write a poem. I wrote the poem in 2002 after a walk with Tanya through a park. Apart from two word changes the poem is as it was three years ago. The poem came to mind recently as it expressed how I felt absorbing the beauty of a season that is so paradoxical-death and beauty so intimately involved in creating the season we call fall.

Untitled

the setting sun

spills its last rays

dipping tips of birch

in soft yellow hue.

the dusk canvas

anticipates

as creation paints

another scene.

the light fades

and darkened limbs

stretch to greet

the winter moon.
