Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

Emotions...

I've been working on Ben's birthday cake for his party tomorrow. I love making creative cakes for my kids- photos will follow once the cake is all put together!

As I "played" around the kitchen, Zach making his own dirt cakes in the back yard, Ben napping, I felt peace, joy and contentment.

The phone rang just then. My good friend Jen was on the other end. She just had a baby girl 6 days ago: Ella Genevieve. Beautiful little one.
Her news was two-fold:
1) our other friend, Jen, who is expecting just weeks after my due date, just found out they will be having twins!! WOW! (they have one little girl already)
2) our friend, Marie, who's due date was set just weeks before mine, just found out this morning that both the twins have died. She and her husband, John, had just gone out to Vancouver Women's hospital to have some amniotic fluid drained from her uterus because she was filling up too fast, and the twins (being mono-amniotic) were swimming in the same over-full "Tank". Before the doctors could even remove some of the fluid, the two little baby girls had swam around and strangled each other with their umbilical cords. This was the couple's first pregnancy.

Jen and I cried together on the phone. It's not fare. It's terrible. Questions? No doubt.

Please pray for both these families, but especially John and Marie.
My nose is still running... must go.
