---------------oOo--------------- Dad's weekend with the Boys!

We planned on doing some ice fishing but ended up in a blizzard. Too much snow and wind to try and fish.

The boys were brave and with only a few tears made it back to the shelter of the trees where we made a fire and had some lunch.

After lunch we did some exploring. Zach tried snowshoeing and did very good. We even saw a squirrel, which Ben kept calling a monkey.

As we were heading back to our car we met some folks who were out sledding with their Siberian Huskies., they even had brought the puppies along (they are in the cage), the boys really liked seeing them.

Parades and stuff...

Isaiah had his first parade last weekend. It was the Winterfest parade in Vernon. We took our family and met up with the Janzen clan (minus brother Andrew), and sat for over an hour in minus something weather just to watch a bunch of clowns and drum-beaters and a few "Miss So-and-so's".... The kids didn't even enjoy themselves too much, and it was for their sake that we were there.... Regardless, as per usual, we adults made light of the situation and laughed at silly things as we sipped our mate' on the sidewalk. Isaiah, by the way, just "chilled" quietly the entire time in his stroller. (in photo he is in back seat behind Benno)(sorry Mom, your head is behind the balloon!)

This past week Jer and I did the "Cabbage Soup Diet" together. It's a cleansing diet, and it really seemed to work for us. Jer claims to have lost a bit of weight. I don't know about myself, but I did have energy all week, and I feel pretty good... now that I've ended it!! We were actually getting a little tired of it by this, the sixth day, so we agreed to combine day six and seven into today and spend our Sunday indulging on all the good foods God has blessed us with!!! (well, okay, we will attempt to eat it in moderation.) So today, this was our diet: (lunch)pure steak and salads- no dressings. For supper we had rice and vegetable stir-fry. This diet allows MUCH eating, just in certain combinations. It's still not easy, especially the first three days. Give it a try and see how you feel!

We had an interview with Habitat for Humanity (I'd link them but don't know how). They are a Christian founded organization with the goal/desire to help families out who need a "hand up". We are one of sixteen families in the runnings for a new home being built here in Kelowna. It would be much larger and brighter than the home we are currently in, and we would eventually be owning it. We're excited about the possibility, and are leaving it in the Lord's hands. If we were chosen, we would be moving in by April or so.

This afternoon, after our interview, we went for a drive in our family Volvo to go see the Habitat Home that could be ours in a few months. Then we kept on going up the mountain for a longer drive to Big White. I've never been up there, and it's like another world! So much snow, and such fancy condos. It's run by Australians, and it really did seem foreign to me! Perhaps one day I'll get to strap on a board again!! Jer went with a group of men the other night for "cheap ski". It was only five bucks for three hours of night skiing! Jer attempted boarding for the first time, and he actually enjoyed it! So, ... there is still time left in this winter!!

Tomorrow I am heading to a Casting Call for a local film school. I've been extended the invitation to come and audition for one of their films. It'll be fun. Jer will have the two older boys with him, as they head over to a camp in Peachland. Jer and his mentor are planning a men's retreat in the Spring and our scoping out prospective locations to host it. So, that'll leave Isaiah with Grandpa tomorrow. He'll like that time. (both of them will, that is)

---------------oOo--------------- Blogging is "TIME"; Time is "FUNNY"

I just can't keep up with regular updates. Sure, time is money- like the TIME when I found my three year old's two pennies in the dryer- but it's also kinda funny. Just when you think there's time to sit down and pop out an entry before you go to bed, you find that it's really later than when you first thought you'd just sit down.... (to really know what I mean, check out my sister-in-laws entry back in January, entitled "MOTHERS" on the Janzen blog linked on our site)
"I'm going to bed" never really means exactly that for myself.

Anyway, I'm rambling in my fatigue and distraction by the piece of peanut stuck in my tooth....

My boys are doing really well. They are great kids and I have a real riot spending lots of time with them. Costumes is a big part of our lives these days. Zach, of course, is big into dressing up. Spiderman is still cool, but these days Superman has been the favorite. So, at his request, I painted a t-shirt for him and sewed a little cape and he's the king of the world!!!

Then, with the left-over fabric he insisted that I sew Ben a little cape so he can be a little superman too! What buddies!! I sure love that they are at the age of playing well together, albeit ruff and loud sometimes!

Isaiah's pretty "SUPER" himself. He's the most super-ist-ly content baby I have ever known! God knew I'd need that with the extreme energy the other two exude! And he's so happy too!
