Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

And then there were two....

...and then there was one.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning regarding my dating ultrasound.

Good news: baby is doing well.

Sad news: the twin has not survived.

Mixed feelings: loss, yet a bit of relief??? (can you imagine five kids aged four and under?)
It's a bit mind-boggling to think of a child I have carried already with Jesus in Heaven. I feel that this kind of miscarriage (having a surviving twin) is easier to take than losing a single child pregnancy. There is still life in me that needs to be cared for!

God is in control, though I don't understand His ways sometimes.

My due date is still difficult to figure, but it's somewhere between December 30th and January 2nd. This child may be the youngest in his class, or the oldest. Maybe we'll have the new year's baby, and have all our baby supplies taken care of!! We shall see.

Anyway, this continues to be a journey of surprises and blessings. God is faithful.
