Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

Little One

A friend of mine, after hearing that I'd lost the twin of the babe in my womb, sent me this poem which her cousin wrote after her mom had miscarried a little one. I thought I'd share it with you readers. It may be a blessing to some of you who have also let a little one go to heaven before yo had the chance to hold him/her.

“Your first steps will be in heaven, Holding tight the Father’s hand.
The pride and joy of angels, As you learn to crawl and stand.
Are you and grandma playing? Give her a kiss for me.
She went just before you did, So she could bounce you on her knee.
You two are sure to get along, She’ll fuss all over you.
Grandma loves to rock the babies, And play Peek-a-Boo.
You’re the prettiest little angel, How I’d love to see you smile.
I long to kiss your baby cheeks, But I’ll have to wait awhile.
Before they even opened, Jesus closed your eyes.
Then Mother Mary picked you up, To gently hush your cries.
He knew we wanted you, And how good that it could be.
But He said, ‘I’ve got something better, If you’ll only trust in me.’
So he wrapped us up in blessings, and took you to Him without stain.
We place our trust in His promise, That one day we’ll hold you again.”

I found it particularly moving considering both Jeremy and I lost our Grandmothers in the few months previous to losing "baby twin".
