mardi, janvier 29, 2008Snow is So much fun!!(notice the expressions on their faces!! love it!) The Papas! The kiddies (minus Abi) Auntie Tanya with the pretty Saffron! jeudi, janvier 24, 2008Life ...Zach has started up his skating lessons. His very first time on skates on ice! He is doing very well, but, being a perfectionist, is finding it quite discouraging that he hasn't become a pro after the first half hour session!! He is the cutest "Bambi" on ice I've ever seen! Benjamin is continually entertaining us with his silly acts. He's a charmer in his performances. Here he demonstrates that he definately is a CHEERY boy! Isaiah is sharing all his love around. He's a BIG boy- headed for the CFL no doubt- but his gentle hands are a display of his BIG heart! Her Doll. Daddy's Doll. Mommy's Doll. The boys' Abi Doll. vendredi, janvier 11, 2008Oh My Goodness...I can't believe I forgot to put her name in that last entry!! I sorta assumed everyone would just... know what it is! ha ha Her name is Abigail Noel Liese Harnett. Abigail means "Father's Joy" Noel means "Day of Birth" (and since she was due around Christmas, and was born on the 12th day of Christmas... it fits!) Liese means "God is bountiful", and was the name of my dear Oma who passed away one year ago on January 1st. So, there's her name! (yes, we'll end up calling her Abi for short. I love having options with my kids' names.) mercredi, janvier 09, 2008Here SHE is!So, the long and short of it was: We were told to come in to the hospital at 8am to be induced on January 5th. Upon arrival we were informed that they had over-booked the inductions that day and I would probably be sent home unless I had a clinical reason to be induced immediately. (I suggested that I had three other kids who had to be "farmed out" for this occasion, and by postponing the induction I would have to figure it all out once again; not a good enough reason.) We were sent home until further notice of space available, and ... well, I said this would be the "short" of it: We were called at home by the ward to come back in at 1:30pm. So, by 2pm I had the inducing gel .... I was monitored. By 4:30 they figured nothing was really happening. I said "Well, I feel something happen. I am feeling some pain." They sent me home and suggested we'd try again in the morning. But before they did, the phoned my doc and he said "Bring her back in at 8pm and do the gel again." So, Jer and I headed to his folks place by 5pm for some salad and wings. I was starting to feel more and more intensity in my belly as we drove away from the hospital. By 5:30 I was pacing btwn 5 minute contractions. I ate... I probably shouldn't have, but I was hungry! By 6pm the contractions were 3 minutes apart. I told Jer we should head back. Both of us were expecting to have an all-nighter with this labor. But by the time I got back to the labor ward (6:30) I was doubling over, contractions were two minutes apart and I was 5cm dilated!! Well it went pretty fast and furious after that. I sucked some gas -- which I would NEVER do again!! (it made me LOOPY and lose focus of my controlled breathing, which resulted in me hyperventilating) Anyway, she was born at 8:35pm on January 5th. She is so beautiful and healthy. Her brothers are pleased as punch about her!! And, of course, Daddy is beaming with pride about his little pink bundle!
