Pilgrims On The Way

our old theologians used to make a lot out of the distinction between God's knowledge and ours...they distinguished...between a knowledge of God in himslef (a theology of glory), which was unavailable to us, and a revelation of God accommodated to our weakness (a theology of the cross). they called "our theology" theologia viatorum, "the theology of pilgrims." while pilgrims haven't already arrived, they know where they're headed and are even now on their way by God's grace. -Michael Horton

Easter Birthday Bash!!

Saturday I had planned a birthday party for Ben at the park. As I handed out my invites, I was handed an invite to an Easter brunch for the same time and date, and for practically the exact same list of guests!! The hostess of the brunch and I decided that we could combine the two engagements, and make Ben the star of the show! It worked out well, and everyone had a good time.

This is the birthday cake I designed for Benny. It's a log cake, sitting on top of edible "dirt", with strawberry/chocolate ladybugs and candy worms, frogs and easter eggs hidden amongst the flowers. It was fun to invent and to make! (It was a hit at the garden party, by the way!)

The Easter brunch/Birthday party was with the two young families care groups from our church, and was hosted in the back yard/patio of the hostesses in-laws. We had a big Easter egg hunt for all the kids, who are all age three and under. It's going to be fun seeing this group of kids (with 6 more babies on the way) grow up together. (I hope we stick around this church for years to come so that we actually can see these little ones grow up together!)

The boys were delighted with the day, and Benny was blessed with a heap of gifts: clothing, outdoor toys, balls etc. What a fun group of friends we are making!!
